As I keep telling everyone in my classes, winter is coming … although the weather is still good enough for some exhilarating training in the university parks and the grounds of Blenheim Palace.
Now’s the time for you to think about your autumn fitness goals and how you can shape up. As we head towards the season of calorific overload, portion control is the order of the day.
I read a report recently that stated that over the past 50 years physical activity levels have dropped by 20%, and in some areas 4 out of 10 people are taking less than 30 minutes exercise per month … What?!!
Some of our members have already trained for and entered the Blenheim 5 and 10k runs. Other people have made small adjustments to their nutrition with great results, losing the recommended 1-1.5lbs per week, and they look and feel much better for it. Of course, as their fitness has improved they have also moved the goalposts in their classes and started training at a higher level. Remember that all training is about progression, no matter how small.
We also have some members training for Ski 2015. This trip was fully booked but due to some changing work commitments, we do now have 3 places available. If you are interested in joining us on this fantastic trip, ask Barry for details or visit the website: www.primeenergy.org.
