Autumn is truly here and it’s a great time of the year to go out for a good long walk and enjoy the lovely colours. Using a FREE phone app – MAP MY RUN – I’ve mapped out a 3K circuit starting from the office, where I can go out and walk or jog a little. Along the circuit I stop to do five exercises (2×40 secs) on a bench at the village green and I’m still back at the office within thirty minutes! It’s a fabtastic mini exercise programme and a great way to use just a little time to stay fit. Plus it really frees the mind too, and I have some great “lightbulb” moments while I’m out of the office and enjoying the great outdoors. The Map My Run app is excellent: it’s motivational, it shows on the map where you’ve been, and it records the results so that you can monitor times and cross-check on it each time. Especially useful when you remember that exercise should be about PROGRESSION.
