What are your fitness goals for 2016?

fitness regimeJanuary has flown past and you should be well into your new lifestyle regimes by now, but it’s the next two weeks that really counts … because all the research shows that people normally only last six weeks before they return to the couch! So with that in mind, I thought I’d give you my thoughts on what the coming 11 months hold for you.

What will be massive in 2016? I actually have the answer to this! I can guarantee that almost everyone wants:

  1. To lose weight
  2. To improve their general health and lifestyle
  3. To be fitter

Sounds like you? Then you’re in the right place! Stick with us for the year, follow the tips in our regular newsletters, come along to our classes and you’ll achieve all those things by the end of the year!

waterAs for me, here’s my personal goal list for 2016:

  1. Get more sleep – at least 7-8 hrs daily. Most nights I do get enough sleep, but I want to make those good nights more consistent.
  2. Drink more water. This isn’t about the Evian scam encouraging us all to drink at least 2 litres every day – because the health benefits were never proven! But I am aiming to drink at least 1 litre of water throughout the day, in addition to the extra H2O I consume in other drinks such as tea… yes, it all counts!

 

3. Consume even more green veg. (Sorry, Annie!) Green veg has huge benefits for weight, health and overall well-being and not many of us eat nearly enough. So I will be going for that rainbow of colour of fresh vegetables and salad produce with every dinner.  I also increase my intake of blueberries. Described as the world’s healthiest fruit, blueberries help with cholesterol levels, bone density, hearth health and more … definitely worth including in the diet!

Come Along to our Christmas Day Workout!

December is the time of year when fitness classes everywhere get busier as people start to worry about the anticipated post-Christmas bulge. It’s just a shame that most people don’t continue to worry about their weight and fitness once the festivities have ended and we’re into a New Year! It’s a lifestyle change they need, not a quick fix that doesn’t work … But enough of that; I’ll jump down off my soapbox now.

Just come along to Kirtlington Village Hall at 9am on Friday 25th December for a Christmas workout with a difference – it will speed up your metabolism ready for that yummy healthy lunch, and we’ll finish the workout with a glass of champers, courtesy of Prime Energy Fitness Limited. See you there!!!!

Christmas Camp Energy 2015

Camp Energy team memberWe are running two Camps during the Christmas holidays, at Summerfields and Kingham Hill. Both run from Monday 21st to Wednesday 23rd December and you can find full details on our website: www.campenergy.com . There will be masses of festive fun and games as well as a visit from Santa. And at Summerfields we’ll also be visited by a local dentist and hygienist who will be educating the young ones on oral hygiene, having lots of fun with disclosure tablets, and giving away goodies.

If your kids are coming to the Summerfields Camp, why not take the opportunity to “Drop & Shop”? Drop the kids off, take the bus into town and save ££££££££££ on parking! Spaces are limited so book yours now!

Ski 2016

ONLY 4 SPACES LEFT! BOOK NOW!!

skiSki 2016 is not far away and we are really looking forward to spending a few days in the beautiful Val d’Isere region of France. We are staying in one of the top ski chalets, complete with a hot tub on the balcony with a serving hatch for the champagne to be passed through! It’s normally reserved for the rich and famous, so this is a real treat.

Classes during the Festive Season – Dates for your Diary

As we are fast heading towards the festive season there will be a few changes to classes and dates over the coming weeks. Make sure you make a note in your diary about when classes take a break and restart in the New Year.

Mondays @  Kirtlington Village Hall, 6.30-7:30 pm

Everyone’s loving our new Monday night programme and the fab music. Our last class for 2015 is on Monday 21st December, and we’ll be back to business on Monday 4th January 2016.

Thursdays @ Kirtlington Village Hall, 9.30-10.30am
Our final “Little Black Number” class is on Thursday 10th December – and we’ll be ending the year in style with a special celebratory lunch! Last year’s Xmas lunch was a blast and this one is going to be even better!

Please note: If you’re coming to the lunch we need your name by Monday 7th December at the latest.

Classes start back on Thursday 7th January with the “Spring Lean” – a great opportunity to create a new you in 2016.

 Saturdays @ Gosford, 9am-10am
Our final Saturday total body conditioning class of the year is on Saturday 19th December – and it’s a special “champagne” workout! Make sure you spread the word and bring your mates! Classes return on Saturday 2nd January 2016 – come along and blow away those New Year blues!

stairs - Copy (1)TAKE THE STAIRS!

Climbing just 2 flights of stairs per day will help lower your cholesterol levels and assist with weight regulation.  One article I read stated that you could lose as much as 6lbs every year doing this alone! So dump the lift and hit the stairs. And if you work on the ground floor or you already use the stairs to get to your office – find some more stairs!!
